EDAA 2024 Summer Conference – Point Clear, AL

The Economic Development Association of Alabama (EDAA) is a membership-based organization focused on promoting economic growth in Alabama. Economic development professionals throughout the state, along with individuals and companies in related fields, work together with the EDAA staff and board of directors to help positively influence state legislation and industrial growth within the state.

Southeast Commercial Vehicle Safety Research Summit – Tuscaloosa, AL

The Alabama Transportation Institute (ATI) and the Center for Advanced Public Safety (CAPS) are excited to plan and host the third Southeast CMV Summit. The summit will continue to bring together government, industry, and research personnel who have interests in CMV traffic safety, creating a forum to build strong and lasting partnerships among the participants and to plan future innovative joint efforts.

The previous theme of “Best Practices for Advancing Safety through Partnerships with Universities” will continue to be an a major objective of the Summit. Additionally this year, questions of an autonomous and electric future will be discussed. Is this the next evolution of safety and commerce?

Experts will present on if and how electric and autonomous commercial vehicles will impact the following five areas: safety, commerce, equity, climate, and technology. Sessions on FMCSA national priority topics will also be included.

GHSA 2024 Annual Meeting – Indianapolis, IN

Mark your calendar to join colleagues and partners from across the country in the “Crossroads of America” for the GHSA 2024 Annual Meeting.

GHSA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit representing the state and territorial highway safety offices that implement federal grant programs to address behavioral highway safety issues. GHSA has two tiers of membership: its core State Highway Safety Office (SHSO) Members and Associate Members.

Vision: Lead states and territories in moving toward zero deaths on the nation’s roadways through leadership, partnerships and advocacy.

Mission: Provide leadership and advocacy for the states and territories to improve traffic safety, influence national policy, enhance program management and promote best practices.

This meeting is designed for State Highway Safety Office directors, their staff and grant recipients, federal highway safety professionals, law enforcement and public health officials, and private sector highway safety partners.
